LAGG 7
Few days ago a friend of mine from Moscow took this photo. Is an exhibit memorial for Gen.Ryazanov
who fought on 2nd VA of 1st UKrainian Front, aircraft placed in front of a Museum in Nijni Novgorod with noseart " To the country from people of Gorkiy " . Perhaps someone knows if this exhibit was one of the Czech export models or eventually saw combat by the end of the war ? Last edited by researcher111; 29th April 2018 at 11:08. |

Re: LAGG 7
Not LaGG 7 but La 7, and it isn't one of those anyway. It is a postwar La 9.

Re: LAGG 7
Graham, was there a variant of the La-9 like this? The only La-9's I've seen pics of had 4 guns in the nose, a different nose air scoop, flame dampers and an angled back to the canopy glass (where it joins the fuselage).
Maybe this is a La-126, though I don't have any pics of one to check. Last edited by PMoz99; 1st April 2018 at 17:22. |

Re: LAGG 7
A few good points there: I admit to going on the canopy, general sit, and apparently "clipped" wingtips. Possibly it is a particularly interesting intermediate experimental, or more likely perhaps a hybrid put together using available pieces. Or I need to look more closely at La 7s...

Re: LAGG 7
I think it's just a fiberglass mockup that resembles an La-? aircraft.

Re: LAGG 7
Good Day,
this "airplane" is there since 08.05.1975 - and what kind of "miracle machine" is it better to ask architects of the permanent exhibition-memorial "Gorkovchane frontu" - S.A. Timofeev, B.S. Nelyubin, V.Ya. Kovalev. It's just a mock-up of the "La-7 fighter" in the view of the architects who saw the La-7 except on postage stamps and postcards. You have not seen a couple of layouts of MiG-3 monuments made entirely of stainless steel on a steel frame. Beauty) Best regards, Kirill |
