Ju 88 loss, Bay of Biscay, 16.08.42 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hi

Can anyone supply details for a Ju 88 that was apparently shot down over the Bay of Biscay on this day by Beaufighters? It would be really helpful if there was a general time that was attached to this loss as well.

From my CC claims list, there is nothing for 16 Aug 42 apart from an inconclusive combat with a Wellington of 311 Sqn at 0902 hrs. What is your source?

Not much of a source, but a mention in Sutherland/Canwell's 'RAF Air Sea Rescue Service' book, p.58
