Question Ernst Schroder,JG-300

How many air to air victories did Ernst Schroder of JG-300 had gotten during WWII? What was his post war career?

Re: Ernst Schroder,JG-300

Edward,

A simple Google search will answer these kinds of questions. I typed in "Ernst Schroder pilot" and found the following page with details about his post-war career: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/e...roederbh_1.htm. Similarly, a search of the Kracker Archive, http://aircrewremembered.com/KrackerDatabase/, will provide his victory tally. However, make sure you spell it as Schröder rather than Schroder.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Re: Ernst Schroder,JG-300

Here is the list of the air victories of my old friend Ernst Schröder (5./JG 300), who died in 2012. This list was established with his comments and with his Flugbuch. His personnal reports and others details are to be found in my JG 300 books (Eagle Editions, Hamilton, Montana USA):

1) 06.08.44. Süd-Ost Berlin. Herausschuß B-17
2) 22.08.44. Raum Plattensee. Abschuß B-24
3) 11.09.44. 11h35 Planquadrat MT. Abschuß P-51 - anerkannt als Nummer 58 der Staffel
4) 11.09.44. 11h38 Planquadrat MT. Wahrscheinlicher Abschuß P-51, Aufschlag nicht beobachtet
5) 27.09.44. 11h12 Planquadrat MU6-MA4. Abschuß B-24. Anerkannt als nummer 66 der Staffel
6) 27.09.44. 11h13 Planquadrat MU6-MA4. Abschuß B-24. Anerkannt als Nummer 67 der Staffel
7) 24.12.44. 14h54 Planquadrat NU-MU. Abschuß P-51.
8) 09.04.45. westlich Prag. Abschuß P-51
9) 12.04.45. Uffenheim. Abschuß Stinson Sentinel

Hoping it helps - best regards

Jean-Yves Lorant

Re: Ernst Schroder,JG-300

I hope it is OK to post links to the books. Eagle Editions appears to have only volume two.

Re: Ernst Schroder,JG-300

Bonjour Mr. Lorant

I noticed some differences between your list above and your books.

In your books:
06/08/44=B-17 W.B. not HSS
22/08/44=B-24 in cooperation with uffz.Hermann Durr (abschuss n°15 of 4/JG302) and also to Schroder ??
11/09/44=one of the P-51 W.B

More recent and therefore update informations?

Bien Cordialement de Paris
Michel

Re: Ernst Schroder,JG-300

Bonjour Michel "de Paris"

Thank you for the relevance of your intervention.

06/08/44 = Ernst Schröder had only described the effects of his shots on the four-engined, but one of his comrades observed that the bomber was losing altitude and had left his box, so the use of HSS in this list.

22/08/44 = You are right. The shared claim with Hermann Dürr ( not Durr as you write) is in my book.

11/09/44 = for him this second Mustang was also done. He saw several hits in cabine, fuselage and engine, with immediate smoke release. So I have chosen to write "warscheinlicher Abschuß".

During the last fifteen years, I have collected a lot of new informations and photos on the JG 300, but none concerns directly Ernst Schröder.

Best regards and thank you again.

Jean-Yves - du Nord de Paris!
