Oblt. Dortenmann´s 25th victory
Hello!
I am searching for details about Oblt. Dortenmann´s (III./JG 54) 25th victory at 13/02/45. He claimed a P-47 (22.FS/36.FG) at 4.56 pm in QQ/3 (Nastätten-Nassau area), confirmed by Uffz. Hein. Was this P-47 S.No. 42-26699, Lt. Evans, "KIA 80 km S of Bonn", MACR 12306? Does anybody have an exact crashplace? What´s about P-47 S.No. 42-8580, MACR 12303? I can´t find any other informations about this a/c, probably lost in the same combat with JG 54? Regards, Heuser Last edited by Heuser; 15th January 2006 at 02:20. |

Re: Oblt. Dortenmann´s 25th victory
In his book " Zielpunkt Südeifel" Author Horst Weber has given Lt Roland E. EVAN's crash location as ROMMERSHEIM. He made a belly landing escorted by 2nd Lt Shisler after a dogfight south of Bonn.

Re: Oblt. Dortenmann´s 25th victory
Hello Mr. Ditsche!
Thank you very much for this very valuable information! I´ll try to get my copy of this book if it is still available. I´ve got a phone number from Bitburg. Now I´ll try to find something about the fate of the P-47 42-8580. Yours, Heuser |
