Info. request about P.O.W. camp transfers.
The attached piece of paperwork refers to the transfer of P.O.W.'s from Fallingbostel to Sagan on 22/1/45. The third listed is my father.
I am hoping the forum can answer some questions for me. What is the meaning of the letters and numbers proceeding the P.O.W.'s names? What is the name of the second P.O.W. number 2194? Is it possible to tell who signed the document? |

Re: Info. request about P.O.W. camp transfers.
I have managed to come up with the second listed name. D.G. Mullock, RCAF.
Can anyone help me with the remainder? Is there a roster of Luftwaffe personnel at Luft 6 that would determine who signed the paper? I think the "C" means Canadian although my father W.H. Layne was English. I am still puzzled by the numbers 5/7 6/3 6/6 and 6/7. Last edited by David Layne; 25th May 2007 at 00:40. |
