Leutnant Hans Boos - 7 August 1941
Hello
I checked the excellent web site of Claes Sundin this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find a profile of an aircraft said to have been flown by this pilot in August 1941. The text states that this particular fighter, Bf 109 F-2 "Black <I" (W.Nr. 8977) of the Gruppenstab of IV./JG 51, was lost while flown by him in an emergency landing due to engine trouble on 7 August 1941. However, the loss list entry in Die Jagdfliegerverbände der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1934 bis 1945 for this incident does not identify the pilot. Does anyone know the source that Leutnant Hans Boos (42 victories, DG-K, killed in action 21 April 1943) was the pilot on that occasion? Horrido! Leo |
