Leutnant Hans Schäfer 7./NJG 2 later NJG 3
Dear all,
I'm actually in search for some more information concerning Leutnant Hans Schäfer from 7./NJG 2. Especially, I'm interested in the entries of his flying logbook and book of achievements for the night from 30th to 31st March 1944. I assume it was Lancaster ND798 from No. 166 Squadron which was shot down by Schäfer during this night (Nuremberg Raid). He claimed a Lancaster shot down near Bonn. Any help is very welcome... Best regards, Oliver |

Ltn Schäfer sitting in the ambulance, 8 may 1945, when IV/NJG 3 were leaving Fliegerhorst Hadersleben/DK. He shot himself by accident in the foot with a flare gun. Gruppenkdr. Hauptmann Tober standing in the front.

Well I have to take Mr. Tober's word for it. He presented this and other pictures to me, at a personel meeting.

By the way, do you happen to know Hans Schäfer's date of birth? :-) DeZeng and Stankey do not provide it...
