S/L - Major Forrest Melvin Cox VR103468.

Frosty Cox USA, joined the RAFVR in Canada and shipped to the UK to join 121 Eagle sqn, 234sqn then joined 151 OTU at Risalpur, India. He then transferred to USAAC in China flying with 74 FS, 51 FG. Can anyone please tell me what his US service number was and what was his birthdate.

He was born in Illnois in 1916

He went to Millikin University, Illnois


I think he was born February 20, 1916

A Forrest Cox died April 1, 1961, 45 years in Yavapai, Arizona, USA

I do not know if it was him

Yes, he died in Arizona but on Saturday, April 22, 1961 when a helicopter he was piloting hit some power lines and crashed. Two other passengers were also killed. The accident happened in Yavapai County, AZ.

Many thanks Dennis and Paul for updating my file on this pilot. These US pilots were real trail blazers risking all before their country entered WW11.
