The capture of Dr. Walter Messerklinger

Guys:

Rereading The JG26 diary for the dozenth time; according to the diary the Geschwader flight surgeon, Dr. Walther Messerklinger ended up in Allied hands in either late October or Early November 1944. At the time there were no details but I was wondering if, 18++ years later, we ever found out how this happened;

Thanks ahead of time

NM
