Re: victory Ofw.Müller 29.8.1940
Hi,
please have anyone contact at Francis L. Marschall? The author of this great book: Messerschmitt Bf 109T Die Jäger der Graf Zeppelin, writes in this book about Oblt.Robert Müller information that I have not found elsewhere. It could help us answer some questions. There is another possibility, it is certain that on August 29, 1940, a member of the 2./JG 26 shot down a Spitfire? Could it be that the Staffel number was confused? Maybe it should have been correctly stated: Ofw.Müller 3./JG 26 ??? Please, Does anyone have a photo of Ofw.Wilhelm Müller 3./JG 26? I believe that this pilot had 10 victories. thank you for any help. Regards Tony |

Re: victory Ofw.Müller 29.8.1940
Hello all,
According to his personal records it was Robert Müller. He was born on 12 Oct 17 and was a member of I./JG 26 from 1 July 39 till 11 Jan 41, when he was posted to 8./JG 26. He was promoted to Ofw on 1 July 40 and claimed a Spitfire near Dover on 29 Aug 40. Robert Müller died on 17 July 44 after 408 Feindflüge and 11 victories. Hope this helps. Regards, Rob

Your answer settles it for me to. However, since Johannes only has 7 claims and 1 unconfirmed, plus now this one, all I get is a maximum of 9 claims. Do you have the two missing ones? Cheers Stig |

Re: victory Ofw.Müller 29.8.1940
Hi Guys
It is almost certain then that Robert is our man. Contrary to popular belief that Schulz is the most common surname in Germany, it is in reality Müller. I numbered pilots who's forenames I didn't know like Müller.XXII e.t.c, if theres any appetite for it I could list them if anybody want's to try to work out who they are? Kind Regards Johannes |
