6./KG 27 Loss 13 March 1941

Following a request from the son of one of the crew of the 1G+AP, He 111 H-3, W.Nr 3346, lost on sortie to Glasgow on 13 March 1941 can anyone add any detail as to the likely cause and location of the loss? I am presuming that the aircraft came down in the sea.

I have crew of:

Rudolph, Liebs, Schmidt, Hribar and Miss (although the latter may be a corruption?) and as I do not have any relevant NVM perhaps somebody has some further detail to add?

Most particularly, details about the cause and location of the actual loss are sought by the family.

Re: 6./KG 27 Loss 13 March 1941

Here's the loss info I have with sources. These sources only list a 4-man crew. Sometimes with this type of loss there will be a reference to a last radio contact, however, at least in what I have, in this case nothing. If I can find it, Waiss' book may have more information in the text - if you haven't looked already.

He 111H-3, 3346, Liebs, Fw. Herbert, , II., 6., KG 27, gelbe A, 1G+AP, , , 13-Mar-41, MIA with crew, cause unknown., , Lfl.3/Kanal, Gen.Qu.6.Abt. Andy: The night of 13-14 Mar 41 saw II/KG 27 send 5 ac to Glasgow (attacking 2313-2235 hrs) and another 7 to Liverpool (2307-2334 hrs). They admit losing one aircraft but no details (or which target it was after). RAF fighters claimed 3 He 111s destroyed, one probable, 2 damaged plus an unidentified destroyed and one damaged
