What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

Hi,

I saw that the forum on www.luftarchiv.de has been closed down.
- Does anyone know why?
- are the posts saved somewhere
- which other german language forums exists - that has a good standard?

Thanks
/Mike

Re: What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

This is the message when I go to the forum

Das Forum ist endgueltig geschlossen

Ich danke allen treuen Seelen und wuensche eine gute Zeit

translated by google as

"The forum is finally closed

I thank all faithful souls and wish a good time"

Sad loss as there were some very interesting conversations held there at times.

Re: What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

I'm not quite certain why the Luftwaffe Bullet Board was closed down but site traffic was appreciably slower over the last year or so which was a shame.

I'm not aware of any useful German language boards.

Re: What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

Bernd Hartmann had quite some conflicts with some members on how the board should be run. In the end these "complaining" members led to slowing traffic as nobody anymore seemed to post anything there anymore.

Indeed there were until the end some very interessting topics at LBB. And it is one of the eldest german language boards. IMO there was/ is no real alternative german board of that magnitude. Luckily the derivates/ offsprings of LBB (Luftarchiv.de, stammkennzeichen.de) seem to reain -for the moment atleast- as the legacy of LBB.

There is indeed no other board just like LBB. There are other useful boards where Luftwaffe and ww2 are just a section though.

Re: What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

I had send a message to Bert H., but he did not consider necessary to reply. The forum reached never again the high quality before the restart in 2015. Unfortunately many old users did not apply again. For me only a logical consequence.

Re: What has happened to the forum on www.Luftarchiv.de?

I used to go but I quit. The forum is too much segmented and you have sometimes to think twice before posting. The same question can be sometimes posted on two or three different sub-forums.
Too much complicated.
