The D.338 in question was a formed AA aircraft, civil registered and used by Air France.
In the period 1919-1939 both France and Poland had a lot to do with each other, both
politically and financially. Poland used a lot of French aircraft types as well.

For all I can say (Franek??) it is not impossible that an Air France aircraft could get stuck
somewhere in Poland and be destroyed.
Also the pic is clearly taken outside, not inside any hangar.

The P-47D (quite an amazing B-17....) looks like 42-7865 lost 16.3.1943.
The pilot Goerge Spaleny bailed out and was made POW

No idea about your second one

4th time of trying to post.
Photos 3-4 both lost on Mission 83 16 Aug.43 to Le Bourget airfield.

B-17F 42-5797 BK-E 384BG (ex-AFSC) shot down by e/a, MACR 295. Tail symbol looks like a Greek "Pi"; on 1 July 1st. Div. ordered a triangle with Group letter (384th ="P), maybe no time to mark up so used this.


P-47D 42-7865 LM-T 56FG with engine failure escorting B-17s crashed W. of Beauvais, on VIIIFC 105. As Stig says.
