C-47 wreck Arnhem 1944
Supposedly the wreck of a USAAF plane at Arnhem in 1944. The serial number seems to be 41-24621?

Hello,,
41-24621 - a B17, Baugher has it as lost in a collision over the Gulf of Mexico. Alex |

Re: C-47 wreck Arnhem 1944
That can't be. That is not a B-17 tail so I think the serial number is not that.

It is a B-17's tail. Perhaps 41-24624, http://www.americanairmuseum.com/aircraft/538

Thanks Revi,
I was just checking and thought it could be a "4" not a "1". Well spotted. Alex |

Re: C-47 wreck Arnhem 1944
OK, I stand corrected. It is a B-17 tail. The only problem with 41-24624 is that it ditched in mouth of Keil harbor. It may be that the plane, which looks to have broken apart, may have had part of the fuselage lad in the harbor
