Hi RT
Thanks for your help. I got the information from the Luftwaffe Quartermaster's loss returns on microfilm held at the Imperial War Museum, London. I have other losses of Ju52s for 17-11-42. If I post them on this board could you check that the details are correct or would you prefer for me to send them to you by personal e-mail?
Regards David

Re: Which crew belonged to which Ju52, 17-11-42.

I recheck, maybe some data newly "entered", I'v found the two losses one refer to Bartza/bartos ??? as name of the flugplatz, names are Schulze, +,Sachmal, that's kling more german, the second one hs been cancelled
So the right one is Ju52, 6549
But pls contact me at cdts@cdts.fr, i hv some question to ask you about the quality/readability of your docs..

Re: Which crew belonged to which Ju52, 17-11-42.

Hi David

I have been advised that 6549 was destroyed on the ground at Barce by fighter attack on 17/11/42 when Schultze (observer) and Sachmal (R/Op) were wounded. This was the occasion when 12 Kittyhawks from 250 Squadron found He111s and Ju52s in the circuit or landing at Benina LG (near Barce). Six of the Heinkels were claimed shot down as was one Ju52. Several aircraft were strafed and claimed destroyed or damaged including a Ju52, presumably 6549.

7612 was indeed lost over Stalingrad on 19/1/43.

Hope this helps

Brian
