A list of Spitfire Mk. IX's lost in October/November 1944. Given as - For example aa 123 - 123 - 12-3-1944 Serial number - Squadron - Date. There were others but they were not in the Middle East. AB serial numbers Better known as - Air Britain RAF Serial number Book series AA100 through to ZZ999. Alex |

As I said the info I gave is from the AB series books. From JA100-JZ999 It has for JL346 the following. Page 44. JL346 - 253/249 - NFT. The info you have provided may well be correct, I do not dispute it. Thank you for your additional information. But wasn't it already given in an earlier post in this thread ? Alex |
