Target tow aircraft
Hello,
I'm working on the Flak school at Ramouville (Quiberville sur Mer) in Seine Inferieure (now Seine Maritime) in France. I would like to know the types of aircraft that were used to tow the targets for target practice and also to which units they belonged. Were they based on the ranges? In advance, thank you for your answers. Sincerely François |

Re: Target tow aircraft
Originally the Luftdienstkommandos towed targets, then these were formed into Fliegerzielgeschwader. The orders doing this for the units in France can be found online in Bundesarchiv file RL 2-III/59, pages 11–36, 59 and 77.
You can download the whole file or individual pages free. As for the types of aircraft they used, take a look at my history of Geschwader Bongart (formed from III. and IV. Fliegerzielgeschwader 2) who seem to have had anything from the He 46 to Ju 88 C, Bf 110 and He 111. |
