Re: Abbreviation in newspaper report

Hello all,

Wehrkreis in combination with 'Luftwaffenkorrespondenten' seems the most likely explanation to me, because this correspondent obviously is not commenting some sport match as would be the case with 'Weltkrieg'.

Wish you all the same amount of sunshine as I am enjoying now,

Marcel

Re: Abbreviation in newspaper report

Hello all,
now I'm on thin ice.
Have read this newspaper page.
First it is a typo (W)K - (P)K, "Propaganda Kompanie/Truppe".
But. May WK means the writer of this article. Like NB or MA. Algier.. so stay far and the real name was not use. "Luftwaffenkorrespondent". Also an other article on this page use the full name of the writer.

Hope for better solutions
Manfred

A typo doesn't seem likely since there are seven letters between W and P on the top row of a German keyboard — E R T Z U I O — and mistakes usually occur wtih letters that are closer together.

To the typo again,
wich type of "Setzmaschine" the Gumbinnen newspaper was used in 1944.
Linotype? May you will take a look on this keyboard.
