Re: Crash place:19/03/44

Right, the B-24 crashed at Novo Mosto is "Chief's Flight" (42-52314).

If a B-24 actually crashed at Dravograd ?...perhaps "Homesick Angel" or "War Weary Wanda"?...crash place unknown for now.

You are correct, I missed to put POW, and place of crash is Cerkvenjak, close to Ptuj.
But according to my record from MACR only 3 were PoW, Roland, Inman and Squires. Who was 4th?

Novo Mestro was the crash place of the B-24 42-52314, MACR 3465, Abschußnummer/German casualty no. ME 930.
It is place of crash of 24-52314, but also of 42-52225.
I took a look at Lowell's escape statement:
"Landed NW of Novo Mesto, about one mile. Both landed in near vicinity of ship."
I knew airmen fell near Novo Mesto, but I was not sure of plane.

Re: Crash place:19/03/44

Hi vathra,

to 42-52272: the 4th POW was S/Sgt Lynn Mason Ripley, 15324743.

Leo
