'Cologne gap'?

Dear all,

Today, one of my German research contacts, a respected airwar historian, asked me about the term 'Cologne gap' -he told me that it was a term used by RAF Bomber Command for a Flak-free zone between Köln/Cologne and Koblenz. This is the first time anyone has mentioned this to me, is this corect?

Cheers, Theo
