Fiat CR 42.
Hi Guys.
SAAF rebuilt a CR 42 found at Addis that was flown back to SA. It was allocated SAAF serial no 22. I have the engine as type A74 RIC 38 no 14274. Is there any way one can trace the original a/c serial from this no?? that then means from Which Squadriglia as well?? Thx Stefaan

Re: Fiat CR 42.
Hello Stefaan,
I don't think it excist any register of the engines in respective Italian Aircraft (and the engines could as be swaped between aircraft as well). In fact there isn't any "official" list of Italian serial either (suposedly there is a list but this has never been distributed) . Best wishes/Håkan

Re: Fiat CR 42.
Thx for the info.
I am sure it was from 1 of the 400 Sqdn's, ie 411 or 412.
