Lt Heinz Geschwill 9./KG 3

He flew his first mission 15 Aug 40 and by Feb 41 had flown 42 missions and was awarded the RK the following month. It is said he was good at lone attacks and one one such mission hit an armaments factory. Again, any ideas as to where and when?

Re: Lt Heinz Geschwill 9./KG 3

Both your RK airmen survived the war until mid 80's...so you probably got in touch with relatives. Perhaps a Flugbuch of one of those airmen that were awarded the RK on the same day (See the other thread about Genzow) may give a lot of additional information. So many have flown, by February 1941 much more missions than Geschwill that indeed he may have hit something large and big to have been granted the RK for "only" 42 Feindflug....
