Arrow Bristol Blenheim 9273

Hello , Does somebody knows if there was a Bristol Blenheim with the serianlnumber L9273. I know that 18 sqdn flew Blenheims with L-92 numbers.

Re: Bristol Blenheim 9273

Hallo Alain

L9273 was indeed a Blenheim (built as a Mark I but modified before delivery to a Mark IV)

Never in use by No 18Sq RAF though

Cheers
Stig

Re: Bristol Blenheim L9273

Alain,

L9273 served with 59 & 86 Sqns then 6 OTU, 42 OTU and 51 OTU before it was SOC 8.7.1944

Could the aircraft you are after be L9253 which was with 18 Sqn - it is said to have force landed at Phanton, Belgium on 14.5.1940 and been burnt by its crew?

Hi Larry ,

In BCL by Chorley i find no trace of Blenheim L9253 18 Sqdn , also there in no place in Belgium with the name Phanton. Last year december there was a topic in this forum regarding a Blenheim L9215 who probably made a belly landing on may 14th 40 at the village Pieton near the town of Charleroi in Belgium. But about this aircraft there nothing in BCL.
Greetings

Re: Bristol Blenheim 9273

Alain,

Prior to 20th May 1940, 18 Squadron was part of the Air Component of the BEF and thus was not considered to be in Bomber Command so any losses will not appear in Chorley.
