Vickers Wellington Bomber serial DF673AA

On August 29th 1942, the Wellington Bomber serial DF673AA (75th New Zealand Squadron) was attacked by German warplanes above the village of Stekene (Belgium).
The Wellington crashed on the territory of Moerbeke-Waas at the place called “Pereboomsgat” .
The 5 crewmembers (Henry Vickers, Sidney Davis, Laurence Hiltz, Daniel McKay en Horace Baittle), were KIA.
Perhaps somebody can acknowledge a German claim (Time, Location, Unit) for this Wellington?
Thanks is advance,
Redcap50

Redcap,

No German fighter claims over Waasland in the night of 28/29 August 1942, but this link suggests that the Wellington DF673 was shot down by Flak instead.

Re: Vickers Wellington Bomber serial DF673AA

Redcap,

Don't know about Flak-units.

Interestingly enough: on 29.8.42 at 03.16 hrs Ofw. Wilhelm Beier of 9./NJG2 (Ju-88) claimed a Manchester bomber NE of Moerbeke...
The Wellington crashed before midnight however, so no match with this claim.

Will see if identity of Manchester is available.

Groet,

Leendert
