Re: JG5 rudolf muller

An article in "Plastic Kits Revue" from 1994 suggested that he may have been seen alive as late as 1947 in captivity.

Re: JG5 rudolf muller

Hello.

It is an F.

We have a special coverage of the aircraft of Müller in our book:

http://www.amazon.com/Luftwaffe-Figh.../dp/1903223903

The ´hole´in the wing is a gun camera installation. Some of the footage from the kills Müller obtained flying this aircraft have survived.

Regards,
Andreas B

Re: JG5 rudolf muller

Some years ago there was a magazine article( which I can't find) which says that following his crash landing he strapped on skis, carried in his aircraft, but was caught by Russian ski troops. Checking in the Walter Schuck book 'Luftwaffe eagle' he says Muller had put on the short skis carried by all 109 pilots on the Artic Ocean Front and covered 20 kms in the direction of the front line before being captured. He goes onto say Muller was sent to one of the most notorious POW camps and in the 1960s the German Red Cross told his mother he died in a POW camp on 21st Oct 1943 ( his death is shown as 'died' whether there was a suspicion this meant killed is not indicated although the orignal magazine article hinted at this),
