A ?? for Andrew Arthy:

Andrew:

I read on another thread that you were working on a history for II/JG51; is this book going to cover just North Africa/Tunisia/the Med or it's entire wartime history?
This inquiring mind wants to know! I've already gotten your other book & am looking forward to this one too!

Hey Nick,

I should start by saying that the II./J.G. 51 history is still far from finished! It's only about 10% done.

However, I can say that it will probably be two volumes, the first covering the early war period up to October 1942, and the second volume covering November 1942 to the end of the war. The second volume will be finished much earlier because I've already got a lot of material for it (and also because the Gruppe was in the West for most of that period, so it is easier to try to match up both sides).

Hope that satisfies your curiosity!

Cheers,
Andrew A.
