sought: high-quality photograph of printed map as found in AIR 14/3409 of the 17-18 December 1942 raid
Dear all,
Who can help me to a high-quality photograph of the printed map as found in AIR 14/3409 of the 17-18 December 1942 raid? The quality of the enclosed scan is regrettably not good enough to distinguish between the outward-bound and the homeward routes of the bombing force, and I need this info for a new plotting map in one of the upcoming volumes in the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series. Cheers and thanks for any assistance in this matter, Theo |

Re: sought: high-quality photograph of printed map as found in AIR 14/3409 of the 17-18 December 1942 raid
A little addition -the document in AIR14/3409 is the Raid Track of 17-18.12.1942 from the Final Reports on Operations, and is the same that can be found in the Interceptions/Tactics Report for the night (in the AIR 14/3370-3378 series).
I have photocopies/photos of both these maps but on both maps the homeward routes cannot be clearly distinguished from the outward-bound routes. Cheers, Theo |

Re: sought: high-quality photograph of printed map as found in AIR 14/3409 of the 17-18 December 1942 raid
Thanks Theo,
Though I may have had a map, only have the ops flying programme for 44 Squadron - 17 / 18 December 1944 which gives crews, aircraft, reserve crews, comms and duty crew. Gardening wise one 2 page Bomb Aimer report dated 18 December. Have asked former colleagues at RAFM to see if they've got a map. DM if you want me to send the jpgs directly to you. Best wishes Andy |
