HISTORY OF PIPER L4 43-0914 [c/n 9775]

I am looking for information about the history of the Piper L4 G-BHZU ex F-BETO.

It appears that this aircraft was ex 43-0914 [c/n 9775] and was apparently transferred to the French Army upon delivery to North Africa in 1943 [it was probably registered 30914 with the French?].

After the war, it flew in different aeroclubs in France before being exported to UK on 03/07/80 when it becomes G-BHZU.

Has anyone more information data / picture / drawing of livery on this aircraft, particularly during WWII ? (and thereafter)

How could we contact a Piper expert ? (could you provide us with such name/contact ?)

Thanks in advance;

GC

Gilles

I believe the man to contact in this case is Christian Malcros, who seems to know most things dealing with ALAT.

If you send me a PM I will give you his last e-mail known by me.
Unfortunately he also seems a bit hard to get answers from since I have sent him an e-mail about a week ago regarding a small mistake in one of his publications. Since I am not French speaking I sent it in English, so maybe he is reluctant to answer in that language....

Cheers
Stig

This is what it most likely looked like when delivered, 43-916.
