Oversized Swastikas on Ju 52s of KGzbV 1
Hi all
I am going through some photos and noticed the oversized swastikas on the tails of some Ju 52/3ms of KGzbV 1. The 'in flight' image here shows 1Z+GK (i.e. a 2. Staffel aircraft) approaching the Danish coast in May 1940, while the airfield shot is in France in June 1940 and appears to show 1Z+NH with an oversized swastika among other aircraft of 1. Staffel bearing 'normal' sized swastikas. I am curious as to whether the oversized swastikas have any significance or tell us anything about these particular aircraft. I would be interested in any expertise you can share.
