Comments on profile for Bf109E-4/B S9+GT of 9./SKG 210 ?

I've been unable to find any photos of a Bf109E-4/B featured in a profile on the back cover of Kagero's Top Drawings series #4 "Messerschmitt Bf109E" by Mariusz Lukasik. It is listed as S9+GT from 9./SKG210. Any comments concerning the accuracy of the profile? Better yet, can anyone point me to a photo of this particular aircraft?

Thanks in advance,
Ian Robertson

9./SKG 210 did not exist. SKG 210 only had Stab, I. and II. Gruppen. Bf 109s with a unit code 'S9' are 100% III. Gruppe, ZG 1 from 1942.

Hello Ian

These appeared on eBay sometime back. They seem to show a fiendflug ceremony by 9./ZG 1. A bit blurred but the original set had shots of S9+GS also. My guess is that Kagero have another and different set of photos. Therefore I think they prove that the Kagero profiles you have are okay.

Cheers

Chris

If the eBayer purchaser wishes me to remove these then please contact and I will oblige.

Thanks for the info, and another question

Those photos match the profile quite well in terms of camo pattern (different spinner style and color though). Also, the profile suggests that the entire cowl was yellow but then oversprayed with RLM70 or 71 beneath the wasp. Would it be plausible for an a/c in this group to have the entire cowl (in front of the leading edge of the wing) yellow?

Thanks again for the photos!

Ian

Kagero doesn't have other photos, they used these attached by ChrisS to make the profile.
Ian, the biggest mistake in this profile (and the decals, too) is the Wespe emblem - in my opinion too short and too narrow.

Anyway, I'm a big admirer of your model painting style, hope to see your new builds soon on HS or somewhere else.

Regards,
Maciej

Thanks Maciej - much appreciated. I agree with your comment about the wasp - it is out of proportion (I wonder why that occurs when translating from photo to profile?). I'll have to give some thought on how to correct that. I'll also correct the spinner color and style. Cheers, Ian
