I work in book publishing. I get it. Meanwhile, I still occasionally believe things I read on the internet Thank you for your reply.

Re: Kauz Night Fighters from Chandos Publications

Hi,
The new book from Chandos Publications on the Luftwaffe's Dornier Do 17/215 ‘Kauz’ night fighters in WWII is nearing completion. I have therefore made the book available to pre-order on my website. Please click on the link below. Customers outside the UK may wish to wait until I can list the book on eBay, where you can pay any VAT at source. *Please note* that non-UK customers who order through my website must acknowledge the fact that you may be charged import duties, although I can declare the item as low value.
I expect the books to be finished and delivered to me in around 8-10 weeks.
Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I will surely buy the book.

And yes, it has become quite expensive for non-UK residentials to order books from the UK. In my country (Denmark) I have to pay tax on a book from the UK (price of the book and postal expences - 25%). On top of that I have to pay a fee to the postal service for being allowed to pay the fee - right now about 230 kr (about 20£).

Carsten, the Finnish post charges either 0.90 € or 2.90 €. Have you tried UPS for at least Finnish UPS does not charge anything if the parcel is cleared by the addressee.

You are quite right, same here in Ireland, the customs services are back from the dead, and are throwing every conceivable charge into the mix with the postal carriers having a grab as well.
So glad I bought a house full of books and model aircraft back in the day, when cost and carriage were the only factor. More selective now!!!

Carsten
Perhaps you should move to Sweden? (Just kidding of course)

The postal charges here are
a) VAT 6%
b) Customs clearance SEK 75 (which is what your postal company charges you DKK 230....)

Cheers
Stig

Re: Kauz Night Fighters from Chandos Publications

Dear Luftwaffe fans
I'm pleased to announce that the new Chandos Publications Ltd. book on Dornier 'Kauz' night fighters has finally arrived! If you have ordered from a wholesaler then please note that all UK wholesales should have received their orders. EU & ROW wholesalers will receive them in the next couple of weeks. Private individuals who have ordered through my website or eBay page please bear with me as I ship these orders out - 99% have already gone.
The book has turned out even better than I hoped, with the usual beautiful design by Mark Nelson, and the great product quality that is the hallmark of Chandos.
If you want to order a copy don't wait! Over two thirds of the print run are already gone!
Thanks for looking
Rich at Chandos.
