Spitfire MH434
Hi,
There were dozen of airworthy Spitfires used for famous Battle of Britain movie directed by Guy Hamilton. One of them was MH434, ex 222 Sqn WWII machine, played AI°A, N3310 of S/L Skipper. It is the machine with Squadron Leader pennant and tally under the cockpit. Does anyone have, know about photos of this Spitfire in 1968, when the movie was prepared ? I am aware only about the attached one, unknown source. Any comments much appreciated. Regards, Michal |

Re: Spitfire MH434
The codes changed on a daily basis.
Six of the flying and four of the non-flying Spitfires were painted in the AI-A Skipper livery during the course of filming in the summer of 1968. PeterA |

Re: Spitfire MH434
Hi,
Thanks for replies. Interesting how many kits were AI°A. Do I remember right that not only Robert Shaw as S/L Skipper, but also Christopher Plummer as S/L Harvey should have a few of victories under the cockpit ? Michal |

Re: Spitfire MH434
There's a couple books by Robert Rudhall about the making of the movie. Hard to find though.
