Re: Ju 88 C/R Daylight Operations

From what I can see, Stab, II and III./KG 51 suffered 12 aircraft damaged or lost between 15 May 42 and 28 April 1943 none with the letter F in the code

I am aware of 10 of those 12 losses from Stab, II and III Gruppe...hence me thinking (and reasoning) that this (my image) may be the sole I Gruppe's machine.

By the way, it is a member of this board who helped me gathering the 10-12 Ju 88 C-6 losses.

If there is heavy snow, unlikely to be the sole I./KG 51 aircraft which had departed by winter 1942-43

Re: Ju 88 C/R Daylight Operations

Chris, I did NOT say it was the sole machine from I Gruppe of KG 51 to have flown during the winter of 1942-43.

But, the information available do points to a SOLE Ju 88 C-6 flown by I/KG 51, between October and November 1942.
https://www.ww2.dk/oob/bestand/kampf/bikg51.html

The werknummer and codes of this machine are unknown, hence my theory or assumption that THIS machine with solid nose, spinners possibly yellow or white but very weathered (the spinners are darker than the Edelweiss emblem), coded 9K+F? (underside of the wings, close to the wingtips are yellow too); photographed on the Eastern Front (most possibly either at Tazinskaja or Sarabus, may be THE Zerstörer Ju 88 flown by I Gruppe during this frame of period.

I guess you misunderstood what I wrote.
