Colonel Le Gris de la Salle - GCII/7

Often cited as commander of GCII/7 in 1943 but I cannot find information on him. Does anyone know if he was a combat pilot in WWII? He disappears from mention by GCII/7 after mid-1943.

Hi,

Cne Robert Le Grix de la Salle, 01/05/1906-19/12/1945, was the Commandant of GC 1/10 at Oran in early 1940 ; he posted to F.A. Tunisie on 11 june 1940.

Cdr Durieux, Cne Adam and Cne Hugo were successives commandants of GC II/7 then 2/7 in 1940-44

I got my information from a site that has this phrase:

Le commandant Le Gris de la Salle qui commande le groupe apprendra sa transformation sur Spit le 20 mai; elle durera jusqu’au 28 juin.

Hi Keith,

On 01/01/1943 Cne Robert Le Grix de la Salle was the commandant of GC 1/3 ; he posted to this unit on 9/11/1942 the day after when Cne Paul Engler died during Torch.

Le Grix de la Salle left on 13 september 1943.
