Number & text on a found part

On a recently found part (1m.) on which steering cables are visible there is the number 51847 and text on a bolt is W SPEC A
Is this British or American made ?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Correction on the number. Should read 51841. Other numbers found are 52458 4, (R27), (110), 51659. Text on a few bolts is AIR (stylized) Associates.

Hi Paul,

Guess this might be a part of A for Apple? Perhaps the lads on the RAF Commands Forum can help you further, they're very well informed about aircraft parts.

Hoi Hans,

Rob D. and I did some cleaning on it yesterday and went in his files to check. Rob thinks it might be made by Bristol......

Fijne dagen !
