Re: 16/5/40 - Wellington, RAF Dyce
Look at the right hand side of the screen when you click on that link above, does it read down teh right hand side?
AIR 78/1 1918-1975 Name Range: Aagesen, Elizabeth - Agent, Walter Details AIR 78/2 1918-1975 Name Range: Ager, A - Allen, Edwin Details AIR 78/3 1918-1975 Name Range: Allen, Eileen- Anderson, James Details AIR 78/4 1918-1975 Name Range: Anderson, James - Arcus, William Details etc? Click on the range of names that contains the surnames you want. I.e. Borner was contained within AIR78/18, scroll down

Re: 16/5/40 - Wellington, RAF Dyce
Thanks for the help
Managed to find the files you refer to (eventually - quite easy) Couldn't find R.Clark in AIR-78-32_3.pdf Will have another go later, as not 100% sure I was in the right AIR78 file that would cover WW2 as some dates there refer to DOB 1947, but the file in theory covers up to 1975. |

Re: 16/5/40 - Wellington, RAF Dyce
I have seen names missing in the past.
Spare a thought for the guys who had to microfilm these.... 8 little bits of paper at a time. I hope there were no drafty doors nearby

Re: 16/5/40 - Wellington, RAF Dyce
Hi All
R.Clark.... from HG198 that crashed at RAF Dyce "My fathers name was Alfred Henry Clark. His nick name was Bob which is why it was assumed his first name was Robert. This came about as he was always called Nobby as Clark's usually are and someone misheard and thought he was called Bobby. Dad never bothered to correct him and quite liked it and so it stuck. For the rest of his life he was known as Bob Clark." |
