Information on KG26 pilot

Best of the New Year to the Forum,

I have a pilot's licence that belonged to I believe must have flown with KG26 but I can't find him listed in the book Torpedos Los! I have a summary of his licence below. Any information on what I have listed would be appreciated.

How can field post numbers help? Can they be very useful to pinpoint this fellow's unit? This is my first post so please e-mail a copy of your reply to lbohn@shaw.ca so I don't miss the post. :-)

Best regards,
Lorne

Re: Information on KG26 pilot

It would appear that he was a member of 8/KG 26 which converted to the Ju 188 late 44, early 45 and moved to Trondheim

Re: Information on KG26 pilot--Thank you.

Thank you for your response regarding my questions about Kurt Langer. I have Rudi Schmidt's book but I cannot find Langer listed. The time frame fits with the Staffel 8 suggestion. Could the fact that he's not listed have been because he was not with Staffel 8 long enough?

Is there any way I can find out more about his previous commanding officer, Schmidt. It's a VERY common name but I'm worndering if it could be Rudi Schmidt. Any suggestions on further research? Would the fieldpost numbers give any clue?

Thanks again.
