Any information on Hptm Weyl and Oblt Uhlig

Hello,
I am trying to obtain more information about the whereabouts of two Luftwaffe officers that probably flew with II/ZG 26 and II/ JG 6. They are.
1- Hauptmann Weyl ( I found a Gunther Weyl but am not sure if they are the same people. There was such a pilot in ZG 26 or JG 6. Was he shot down or killed? )
2- Oberleutnant Uhlig. ( I found a certain Lothar Uhlig former ZG 1 pilot, but would like to know if he later went to ZG 26 or JG 6. I do know he was killed in action, but would like to obtain the date, local, fate, if possible the serial number and codes of the aircraft he was flying when he died ).

Thank you in advance for any information on the two above mentioned officers.

Yours

Adriano

Adriano,

can you tell me why you want to know?. Copies of the Soldbuch of Oblt. Uhlig can be found on the web.

Oblt. Werner Uhlig, +17.9.44.
Hptm. Günther Weyl, +9.5.45.

cheers,

John.

Re: Any information on Hptm Weyl and Oblt Uhlig

Hi John,
I actually saw some photos of them together and of the funeral of Uhlig. Do you know in which unit they flew? Was II/ZG 26 or JG 6? I do not know when they met..
Cheers
PS: I did not know there were copies of his soldbuch. Will try to find out. Thanks again.
Adriano
PS2: Regarding Gunther Weyl, how he died? Shot by Russians, crash, disease?

Re: Any information on Hptm Weyl and Oblt Uhlig

Adriano,

the pictures of Oblt. Uhlig's burial I know. He belonged to 5./JG 6 and was shot down in his Fw 190A-8, WNr. 173826, weisse 1.

I don't recall seeing pictures of Hptm. Weyl and Oblt. Uhlig together. Can you provide a scan?

Both served together in II./ZG 26, Weyl as Gruppenkommandeur between Feb 1944 and July 1944.

Hptm. Weyl was shot by the Czech.

regards,

John.

Ps. Look at "Spanferkel" 's website. He is a member here.

Send me your e-mail on a private message, I will send a copy for you, ok?
PS: do you have the address of the site you mentioned? It would be easier for me. I tried to find on the Google but there are thousands of Spanferkels....
Glad in advance.

John,
I will have to go, but before that, could you inform me where Uhlig was shot down and at which hour? Do you have any USAF claim that matches that loss? Glad. I will be posting your picture tomorrow, ok? Had to go, really! Wait the pic. tomorrow at the most!
Cheers and thank you for your kind help

Adriano,

will send you a PM.

Search in Members List (above) for Spanferkel and you will find the link.

He crashed near Cologne, no time known.

cheers,

John.

Re: Any information on Hptm Weyl and Oblt Uhlig

Adriano,

I'll cut to the chase here is the link to my site.

http://www.aufhimmelzuhause.com/id79.htm

I would be most interested in any photos of Uhlig including his burial. Is there any chance you might be able to send me those scans as well??? As to Uhlig I only have reference of him serving with ZG26 and subsequently JG6. His Fuhrerschein does indicate a training unit but the area in between this service and ZG26 is a bit murky.

btw John many thanks for the reference to my site, much appreciated.

Cheers

Jeremy
