Is this plate aircraft related?

Have found an instruction plate which I'm trying to identify.
Thought I had added a photo but it hasn't appeared here.
Black with silver writing, rectangular with the left and right hand sides pointed (so whatever shape that is!)
Reads DANGER
Do not apply locking cap
unless chassis is fully down
and latch right home

Someone thought that "chassis" was the name given to retractable undercarriages in the early days. Any ideas?
