Larry Hickey's Europe Series

Has anyone heard anything about Larry Hickey’s book series regarding the 39-40 air war in Europe? Rumors made it sound quite extensive and exciting. I would love to know publication dates if they are available.

His new book is quite good, I hope the European war gets the same treatment.

Re: Larry Hickey's Europe Series

Rumor has it that Larry has been in Europe on another 'fact-finding' mission for the last few weeks. I think its safe to say that the 'Europe series', as you called it, won't begin publication for another year or two at the earliest.

Any more news?

Its been a while and his website shows no progress, or any news about his histories of the European war.

Realistically I think that project is still 1 year and a half to 2 years at the very least before you see anything. Larry is still collecting data and photos, but more importantly I think he is looking to complete the balance of Pacific War series first. Hopefully, he'll pop in here sometime and comment on the project. And yes, it looks very exciting.

I know I bring this up once every six months, but any additional news form anyone in the know?

I loved his Red Raiders book and am looking forward to the same treatment to the early European war

Re: Larry Hickey's Europe Series

You're not going to see anything for a few years still so chill. Larry is still collecting data, still has the rest of his 5th AF unit stories to complete and whatever before the actual writing begins. As a matter of fact I think he is in Europe now on a 'fact-finding' sortie and an assessment of the Weiss collection that he acquired as he previously announced. I do know that he's amassed an incredible amount of data and photos so the wait will be worth it, believe me, and let me leave at that.

Re: Larry Hickey's Europe Series

Larry? No, but there are a number of researchers in Europe who have been helping in the assembly of data and photos for the EOE project and Larry has made several visits to Europe to meet with these individuals personally. Its a very serious commitment on his and all of their parts.
