Re: Coming from John Bruning in January 2020 "Race of Aces"

Alright, it appears there is some confusion with the veterans I knew, who said little, and that is being compared to getting much more about the aces. So, as I wrote, publishing well-supported factual information is good. Facts are good.

I never liked sanitized anything. That's why I try to learn everything about what really happened during the war. But in this particular case, I'm not interested.

Re: Coming from John Bruning in January 2020 "Race of Aces"

Some bitterness here, I see.
The advert wording must attract attention - who would buy a book advertised - an old story, covered many times, and presented another time with really no new info. Certainly, even such a book might be a valuable contribution, perhaps the best one of the subject, but how many would buy it?
That said, there is the author. He wrote on a subject that once was very hot topic, covered in media, some sort of Super Bowl. He says, that the story was never researched properly, and that the seemingly well known topic had to be written anew. As an author he is supposed to know best, is not he? Why not to give him a chance?
I write this from personal experience - plenty of seemingly well researched topics require major rework. This probably will never be done, unfortunately.
That said, sadly I will probably never get the book, and will never read it. Life's too short...

I've almost finished it. It was very informative and provided me lots of new informations but I can't claim to be an expert on the subject and therefor can't say if they are groundbreaking compared to the previous works on the subject. But it's definetely deeply researched.
