Re: Areal photo of crashed B-17 in Germany
I can find a "Finningen" on Google Maps, the next town NW of Hochstadt but not a "Finningeb". Finningen and Hochstadt share a border, so they are adjacent.
It still would seem possible that we might be talking about 43-38664 though, as we are in the right area and on the right date. It would be interesting to get the detail reports for the 82nd FG and maybe the 14th FG for 14 April 1945. Here is a link to the 82nd FG April 1945 reports. They can be ordered from AFHRA.
