Mystery Luftwaffe Stamps Pre War from 1937

Hi,

Please can anyone ID these stamps that are inside a pair of Flying Boots that came from Sola Luftwaffe Base Norway many years ago. It would be interesting to know.

My interpretation of the stamps are;

FL.H.Kitr.Liega
1937
KG ?V 153
10.St

Please see attached pictures.

Many Thanks

How about Fl.H.Kdtr. Liegn. = Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Liegnitz?

According to the DeZeng/Stankey airfield lists, it was used by IV./KG 153 from April 1937 to October 1938.

Hi Nick,

I think your right on the money. That fits perfectly. Many thanks. On closer inspection to the name Liega, it is certainly Liegn. abbreviated for Liegnitz.

What aircraft would IV/KG153 have been flying during that time and after?

Thanks again

That's great Chris, very interesting thank you.

I take it that the 10 St. would mean 10 Staffel?

Kind Regards

Yes. And 10. Staffel would have belonged to IV. Gruppe of KG 153.
