Re: 13th May 1940 He 111 of 1./KG 4
Hello,
I read in a German Heimatbuch that a Heinkel He 111 is said to have made an emergency landing in May 1940 between Lünten and Hörsteloe (on German territory just across the border). The bomber is said to have been returning from attacks on the Netherlands. The crew is said not to have been injured. There is also a photo shown, which I cannot post for copyright reasons. The photo shows a He 111 landed on its belly with the identification 5J+CH. Unfortunately, no source is given for the photo. Can someone tell me whether it really was 5J+CH or which machine it must have been and the names of the crew? Thanks in advance. Kind regards |
