Jerry,

Per information in Peter Rodeike’s excellent book on the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, the 012x xxx Werknummer series identifies A-2 machines and 013x xxx series tbe A-3. So, “Blue 14” would be an A-2.

Best,

David

I can confirm A-2. First A-3 mentioned by 10./JG 2 was 3 Aug 42? A-2s had gone by Oct 42, A-2s and A-3s to be replaced by A-4s and A-5s by end of Jan 43

Hi All
I see some profiles show that the rudder on his 190 had the ship kill markings
anyone know if this is based on photos, or just assumptions that they would have been painted onto his new aircraft
cheers
