Re: Photos for identification

Andreas, D-AQUI is a DLH machine but most interesting to me is the dark camouflage with light letters.

it has a straight upper wing (compare to other photos you posted)
and fixed landing gear.
image number 10 is an I-153 (note gull wing and retractable landing gear)
# 11 is also an I-153
# 12 is an I-16 type 5 1938 production
# 13 is a UTI-4 also know as I-16 type 15
# 14 is an I-16 type 5

It is sure Avia S-199.54 (s/n 54). Pilot of this plane escaped to West Germany sometimes after 1948 Communist Coup. Plane belonged to Bezpečnostní letectvo (Czechoslovak Police Air Force) and it seems to had wore Call Sign S-1. Unfortunatelly I don´t know when plane flew to West Germany.

Re: Photos for identification

Hi,
Just to add that the tape was added in Germany as a camoflage to hide the Czeck markings.Code could have been "SS";"KS";"HS";"LS";"MS";"IS";"NS";"OS";"PS" or"RS".
