Help To Id German Ww2 Aircraft Panel ??

Hello All
Can you help me identify this panel. It came from Russia and was recently recovered from a crash site. It is in great condition. The outside has two access locks and the words Auf and Zu. The paintwork is a dirty off white / grey colour. The lock castings have the numbers :

Ju N 16410 and 1R3115

The aluminium parts have component numbers all prefixed 540

540 1605
540 2601

The outer skin has 111241 stencilled on the INNER FACE. There are several "OK25" inspection stamps on it.

The aircraft carashed near the Russian city of Pavlovsk. The panel has a part of a hinge (?) at one end stamped 540 2201

There is also a triangular swivel assembley made of plated metal near the hinge. Some wreckage (allegedly from a Ju88 is for sale on ebay and there is a similar triangular swivel amongst those items.

Can anyone help - Anyone a Junkers expert? The panel has two corners which are a smaller radius than the others, and is slightly convex. The locks still pop in and out.

Would appreciate any help . Can send better photos upon request.

Jim

Re: Help To Id German Ww2 Aircraft Panel ??

I read somewhere here in Brazil an article about flying one of the first Junkers aircrafts produced. From that article I remember the AUF and ZU words and can inform that this piece of panel MUST BE from the cross feed fuel system ( switch selector valves ). Any German member can confirm if the words means ON and OFF?
From the number you told us Ju...( I do not remember by heart ) it seems certain tha it belongs to a JU 88.
From the serial 140...we can perhaps have the werknummer of the aircraft and discover its Geschwader and the fate of the crew, the Russian pilot or Flak unit that claimed it.
Hope to have helped...

Re: Help To Id German Ww2 Aircraft Panel ??

I remembered ZU and AUF means OPEN and CLOSED. I do not know which of them means what...but it seems that it is it! I have answered the first POST without seeing the pictures. It seems now that this was a remouvable panel from the engine nacelle or another kind of fuselage PANEL. It does not seems to be from the cockpit panel. It is too strange and not usual for the instrument panel. Perhaps from the radio-operator panel or from the gunner position, but ( I flew as a commercial pilot for some time ) certainly not from an instrument panel...( MY PERSONAL OPINION, may I frise here! I must say I am not an especialist on WW2 German interior cockpits...it is not everyday we see those old birds intacts do you know?! )
