Question Help with identifying the markings on this Bf-109

I would appreciate the forums insight on the markings of this Bf-109. I will try to post the zoomed in version, and the entire photo for as much context as possible. They are pulling the engine from the a-frame. There is a lot going on in this photo.

Is it a Technical Officer marking with a Geschwader Adjuttant marking over it? When was this marking common, and are there other examples?

I am trying hard to broaden my learning, and this forum is amazingly sharp.

Kind regards,

PS: I applied water stamps

Thank you. If I could please press for more information. A quick search using those keywords, do show a JG 53 plane with very similar markings attributed to Jurgen Harder. Do you know at what point they stopped putting the line all the way through the "0"?

What is the significance of this, was it something only JG 53 did?

+ lo> was the only way I knew this marking to be done.

Thank you, I want to be able to read more about this, is there a resource that will help me?

Re: Help with identifying the markings on this Bf-109

This book may help you:

Osprey - Aviation Elite Units Series 025 - Jagdgeschwader 53 Pik As

It has a profile of Harder's Bf 109 F, the makings indicate he was a pilot of the Staff of III Gruppe of JG 53 and does not have the 'O' crossed

Your image is that of Harder's Bf 109 E.

I hope this is useful
