Information Concerning Loss of Fled. Ludwig Eichhorn 04.07.1940

I am aware that he was lost with KG77 crew on:

3/4th July 1940 4./KG77 crashed near Vreaucourt (?),
Ff: Fw Ludwig EICHHORN killed
HBeo: Uffz Gerhard HARTMANN killed
Bf: Uffz Heinz BOOST killed
Bm: Uffz Georg HOLLERAUER killed

Several other KG77 aircraft were involved in nuisance raids over UK that day. Was this aircraft involved in them?

Thanks

Rick

Feldwebel Ludwig Eichhorn

Hello Rick

I did notice an entry for 3 July 1940 in which a Do 17 of II./KG 77 is listed as having crashed due to enemy aircraft at Vroancourt (Vraucourt) with the loss of all four crewmen. The QM 6 entries for this era of the war do not list the names of the casualties nor the werknummern of the aircraft involved so there is no way to confirm that this is the incident you are interested in but it would appear likely. Hopefully someone else can add additional information.

Horrido!

Leo

Hi Remi

It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm still a tiny boy - at least I act like one at times - ask my wife!

Cheers
Brian
