Ju 88C-6 unit with Two Fuelage Bands
Can anyone give me a clue as to which unit carried two thin white bands on the fuselage after the wing trailing edge? It was seen on a Stab III aircraft

hi,
it might be a plane from kg76. stab carried all gruppen-colours as small bands around the fuselage. all the best jim |

Re: Ju 88C-6 unit with Two Fuelage Bands
Hi Jim. Could this also be from one of the Blind Flying Schools (BFS) they usually had 2 narrow yellow bands behind the wings (but slightly wider than KG76); they included them in some of their badges eg. BFS 4, 8 and BFS (See). As per orders " the yellow markings for better recognition in the air", only yellow.

Re: Ju 88C-6 unit with Two Fuselage Bands
They would not be using a Ju 88C-6 at a BFS in my opinion; III./KG 76 would match

Re: Ju 88C-6 unit with Two Fuelage Bands
hi nick,
chris mentioned thin bands - so he might has a photo from a kg76-ju88. bfs-machines had two yellow bands, but not as thin als this from kg 76. and i think one ju88c-6 was found abandoned 1945 which belonged to an bfs or c-school. i had to look it up. all the best jim |

Re: Ju 88C-6 unit with Two Fuelage Bands
The couple of photos I can remember from the BFS Ju.88s WERE Ju88As, one was CT+ZY (BFS 4 /34. Also HeIIIG CE+NX same BFS and Me110G DT+MR BFS 8/38.
From KG76, I've noted from various sources with single narrow bands Ju88A F1+AS 8 St. Do.17Z F1+AT 9 ST. Do.17Z F1+AL 3 St. Do.17Z F1+JK 2 St. Do.17Z F1+KM 4 St. Do.17Z F1+FS 8 St. Nick |

Ed. Don't know if it's the same one but there's a colour photo of a C with the 3 bands ( F1+F---can't see last letter) the yellow under the wing tip and snow presumably means Russia.
